Martin Joseph O’Malley is an American politician and attorney who served as the 61st Governor of Maryland from 2007 to 2015. He was born and raised in Washington, D.C., and later moved to Maryland. O’Malley attended Gonzaga College High School and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Catholic University of America. He then obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law. O’Malley’s political career began in earnest when he was elected to the Baltimore City Council in 1991.
