Michael Newbold Castle, commonly known as Mike Castle, is an American politician who has served in various capacities throughout his career, including as Governor of Delaware and as a U.S. Representative. Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, Castle graduated from Tower Hill School before earning his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Hamilton College in 1961. He went on to receive a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1964. Castle entered politics as a member of the Delaware House of Representatives in 1966. His career continued to ascend as he served as Delaware’s Deputy Attorney General and later as the state’s Lieutenant Governor.
