Biography

Peter Bondra is a former professional ice hockey player, widely regarded as one of the greatest Slovak wings in NHL history. Born in Lutsk, Soviet Union (now Ukraine), Bondra moved to Slovakia with his family where he began his hockey career. He was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft and spent the majority of his illustrious career with the team. Over the course of his career, Bondra played for several teams including the Ottawa Senators, Atlanta Thrashers, and Chicago Blackhawks. Known for his incredible speed and goal-scoring ability, Bondra scored 503 goals and registered 389 assists in 1,081 NHL games. After retiring as a player, he has been involved in various roles, including serving as the general manager of the Slovak national team.
