Dean Wareham is a New Zealand-born musician and actor, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the indie rock band Galaxie 500. Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Wareham moved with his family to New York City at a young age. He formed Galaxie 500 in 1987 with Damon Krukowski and Naomi Yang while attending Harvard University.
