Alice Mary Norton, better known by her pen name Andre Norton, was a prolific American writer of science fiction and fantasy. She was born on February 17, 1912, in Cleveland, Ohio. Norton began her literary career as a librarian before transitioning into writing full-time. Her first published novel was “The Prince Commands” in 1934, but she gained fame with her 1952 novel “Star Man’s Son, 2250 A.D.” Over her lifetime, Norton wrote more than 130 novels, numerous short stories, and edited several anthologies. Norton is best known for her “Witch World” series, which combines elements of science fiction and fantasy.
