Anne McClain is an accomplished American astronaut, engineer, and Army officer. Born in Spokane, Washington, she has had a distinguished career both in the military and with NASA. McClain graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in mechanical/aeronautical engineering and went on to earn a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Bath and a Master of Science in International Relations from the University of Bristol. She was selected as an astronaut candidate by NASA in 2013 and completed her training in 2015. McClain flew to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of Expedition 58/59 in December 2018, spending over six months in space. Her mission included scientific research, station maintenance, and educational outreach.
