Bhavish Aggarwal is an Indian entrepreneur and co-founder of Ola Cabs, one of India’s leading ride-hailing companies. Born in Ludhiana, Punjab, India, Bhavish pursued a degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, graduating in 2008. He began his career with Microsoft Research in Bangalore, where he worked for two years and filed two patents and published three papers in international journals. In December 2010, Bhavish founded Ola Cabs with Ankit Bhati, a fellow IIT Bombay alumnus. The idea was born out of a personal experience when Bhavish faced difficulties in renting a car for a weekend trip. Ola Cabs quickly grew to become one of the largest ride-sharing platforms in India, expanding its services to include electric vehicles, bike-sharing, and even food delivery through Ola Foods.
