Brian Urlacher is a retired American football linebacker who spent his entire 13-season career with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). Born in Pasco, Washington, Urlacher grew up in Lovington, New Mexico. He attended the University of New Mexico, where he played college football for the New Mexico Lobos and became one of the most decorated players in school history. Urlacher was selected by the Bears with the ninth overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. Known for his versatility, speed, and intelligence on the field, he quickly became the cornerstone of the Bears’ defense. Urlacher was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2000 and went on to earn eight Pro Bowl selections, four first-team All-Pro honors, and was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2005. In addition to his individual accolades, Urlacher helped lead the Bears to multiple playoff appearances, including an NFC Championship and a Super Bowl XLI appearance.
