Bruce Campbell, born Bruce Lorne Campbell, is an American actor, producer, writer, and director, best known for his portrayal of Ash Williams in Sam Raimi’s “Evil Dead” franchise. Born in Royal Oak, Michigan, Campbell developed an interest in acting during his teenage years. He met Sam Raimi during his high school years, and they created several low-budget films together, which eventually led to the creation of the cult classic “The Evil Dead” (1981). Campbell’s performance as Ash Williams became iconic, and he reprised the role in sequels “Evil Dead II” (1987) and “Army of Darkness” (1992), as well as in the TV series “Ash vs Evil Dead” (2015-2018).
