Cesar Pelli was an Argentine-American architect known for designing some of the world’s tallest buildings and other major urban landmarks. Born in Tucumán, Argentina, Pelli earned his architectural degree from the National University of Tucumán. He later moved to the United States, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois School of Architecture. Pelli’s career took off when he joined the firm of Eero Saarinen, where he worked on several iconic projects. He eventually became the Dean of the Yale School of Architecture and founded his own firm, Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects. His notable works include the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the World Financial Center in New York City, and the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco.
