Christopher Scott Kyle, widely known as Chris Kyle, was an American sniper and Navy SEAL who gained notoriety for his exceptional marksmanship and valor during his service in the Iraq War. Born on April 8, 1974, in Odessa, Texas, Kyle enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1999 and was deployed to Iraq four times. He served with SEAL Team 3 and was credited with 160 confirmed kills, making him the deadliest sniper in U.S. military history. Kyle’s autobiography, “American Sniper,” was published in 2012 and became a bestseller. The book was later adapted into a 2014 film directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper.
