Christopher Buckley is an American novelist, essayist, and editor known for his satirical and humorous writing. Born into a prominent literary family, Buckley is the son of William F. Buckley Jr., the founder of “National Review,” and Patricia Taylor Buckley, a socialite and philanthropist. He attended the Portsmouth Abbey School and later graduated with a degree in English from Yale University in 1975. Buckley began his career in journalism, working as a managing editor at “Esquire” and contributing to numerous publications including “The New Yorker” and “The New York Times.” He gained widespread acclaim with his 1989 novel “The White House Mess,” a satire of the Reagan administration.
