Christopher Shays is an American politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Connecticut’s 4th congressional district. Born on October 18, 1945, in Stamford, Connecticut, Shays attended Principia College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1968. He later earned a Master of Business Administration from New York University in 1974. Shays began his political career in the Connecticut House of Representatives, where he served from 1975 to 1987. In 1987, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served until 2009.
