Cris Carter, born Graduel Christopher Darin Carter, is a former professional American football player who is widely regarded as one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history. Carter was born on November 25, 1965, in Troy, Ohio. He played college football at Ohio State University, where he set numerous records and earned All-American honors. Carter was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 1987 NFL Supplemental Draft. He played three seasons with the Eagles before being released due to off-field issues. Carter’s career took a turn for the better when he was picked up by the Minnesota Vikings in 1990.
