Derek Trucks is an American guitarist, songwriter, and founder of The Derek Trucks Band. Born into a musical family, Derek is the nephew of Butch Trucks, a founding member of The Allman Brothers Band. Derek began playing the guitar at a very young age and quickly became known for his extraordinary talent. He formed The Derek Trucks Band in 1996, and in 1999, at the age of 20, he became an official member of The Allman Brothers Band. Trucks is also a founding member of the Tedeschi Trucks Band, formed with his wife, Susan Tedeschi. Known for his extraordinary slide guitar skills, Derek Trucks has been lauded as one of the greatest guitarists of his generation. He incorporates diverse musical styles into his playing, including Southern rock, blues, jazz, and world music.
