Elisha Nelson Manning, known as Eli Manning, is a retired American football quarterback who played his entire 16-year career for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). Born into a family of football royalty on January 3, 1981, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Eli is the youngest son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and the younger brother of Peyton Manning, another NFL legend. Manning played college football at Ole Miss, following in his father’s footsteps, and was drafted as the first overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers, who subsequently traded him to the Giants. Manning announced his retirement from professional football on January 22, 2020.
