Gina Marie Raimondo is an American politician and venture capitalist who has been serving as the 40th United States Secretary of Commerce since 2021. Born in Smithfield, Rhode Island, Raimondo earned her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and later received a Rhodes Scholarship to study at New College, Oxford, where she earned a DPhil in sociology.
