Glenn Lewis Frey was an American musician, singer, songwriter, and actor, best known as a founding member of the rock band the Eagles. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Frey began his musical career in the late 1960s and was a key figure in the development of the Eagles, which became one of the most successful rock bands of all time. Frey played guitar, piano, and keyboards, and shared lead vocals with fellow band member Don Henley.
