Gregory Behrendt, widely known as Greg Behrendt, is an American comedian, author, and musician. Born in San Francisco, California, Behrendt has carved out a diverse career that spans stand-up comedy, writing, and television. He is perhaps best known for co-authoring the best-selling relationship books “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “It’s Called a Breakup Because It’s Broken.” These works have cemented his reputation as a relationship expert, a role he never initially sought but embraced as opportunities unfolded. Behrendt’s passion for comedy was ignited during his time at the University of Oregon, where he was an active participant in the campus’s comedy scene. After graduating, he moved to San Francisco, where he became a member of the improv group “Crash and Burn.” This set the stage for his burgeoning career in stand-up comedy, leading to numerous television appearances on shows like “The Tonight Show,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” and “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Greg’s television career extended beyond stand-up. He co-hosted “The Greg Behrendt Show,” a daytime talk show, and “Greg Behrendt’s Wake Up Call” on the ABC Family channel. In addition to his work on television and in print, Behrendt has also ventured into music, playing in bands such as The Reigning Monarchs. Greg currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Amiira Ruotola, with whom he co-authored his best-selling books.
