Henry Bennion Eyring is an American educational administrator, author, and religious leader who has served in various capacities within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Born on May 31, 1933, in Princeton, New Jersey, Eyring comes from a family with a strong academic background; his father, Henry Eyring, was a renowned chemist. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Utah and later received both a master’s degree in business administration and a doctorate in business administration from Harvard University. Eyring began his career as an assistant professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He then served as the president of Ricks College (now Brigham Young University-Idaho) from 1971 to 1977.
