Herman “Herm” Edwards is a former American football player and current football coach and sports analyst. Born on April 27, 1954, in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, Herm Edwards had a distinguished career as a player before transitioning into coaching and broadcasting. He played college football at the University of California, Berkeley, and San Diego State University. After going undrafted in 1977, Edwards signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played as a cornerback for ten seasons, becoming well-known for his game-winning fumble recovery, famously dubbed the “Miracle at the Meadowlands.” After retiring as a player, Edwards moved into coaching. He served as an NFL head coach for the New York Jets from 2001 to 2005 and the Kansas City Chiefs from 2006 to 2008.
