Ice-T, born Tracy Lauren Marrow, is an American musician, rapper, songwriter, actor, and author. He was born on February 16, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey. Ice-T rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s as a gangsta rapper and is considered one of the pioneers of the genre. He released his debut album, “Rhyme Pays,” in 1987, which was followed by a series of influential albums, including “Power” and “O.G. Original Gangster.” In addition to his music career, Ice-T is also well-known for his acting. He gained widespread recognition for his role as NYPD Detective/Sergeant Odafin Tutuola on the NBC police drama series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” a role he has played since 2000.
