Jack Lord is best known for his role as Steve McGarrett in the television series “Hawaii Five-O,” which aired from 1968 to 1980. His portrayal of the no-nonsense, dedicated head of a special police task force in Hawaii made him a household name and cemented his place in television history. Lord’s career began in the theater, and he made his Broadway debut in the play “Travels of Jamie McPheeters.” He transitioned to film and television in the 1950s and appeared in several notable films, including “Dr. No,” where he played Felix Leiter.
