Jean-Claude Duvalier, commonly known as “Baby Doc,” was a Haitian politician who served as the President of Haiti from 1971 until his overthrow in 1986. He was born into a powerful political family, being the son of François Duvalier, also known as “Papa Doc,” who ruled Haiti with an iron fist. Upon his father’s death in 1971, Jean-Claude, at the age of 19, assumed the presidency and became the world’s youngest head of state at that time.
