Born on December 31, 1962, in Snowflake, Arizona, Flake grew up in a Mormon family and later attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a Master of Arts in Political Science. Flake began his political career in the U.S. House of Representatives, serving Arizona’s 6th congressional district from 2001 to 2013. Known for his strong stance on limited government and fiscal conservatism, Flake consistently advocated for reducing government spending and opposed earmarks. In 2013, Flake was elected to the U.S. Senate, representing Arizona.
