He is best known for his role as Dean Winchester on the CW horror-fantasy series “Supernatural,” which ran for 15 seasons from 2005 to 2020. Ackles initially planned to study sports medicine at Texas Tech University and become a physical therapist, but he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
