James Frederick Bridenstine, commonly known as Jim Bridenstine, is an American politician, former naval aviator, and the 13th Administrator of NASA. Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and raised in Arlington, Texas, Bridenstine has had a distinguished career that spans military service, politics, and space exploration leadership. He graduated from Rice University with a triple major in economics, psychology, and business, and later earned an MBA from Cornell University. Bridenstine served as a pilot in the United States Navy and flew combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. His military career continued with the Navy Reserve, where he transitioned to flying the E-2C Hawkeye. He also served as the executive director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium.
