Kim Reynolds, born Kimberly Kay Strawn, is an American politician serving as the 43rd governor of Iowa since 2017. She is the first woman to hold this office in the state’s history. Reynolds was born and raised in St. Charles, Iowa, and attended both Northwest Missouri State University and Iowa State University, although she did not complete a degree at either institution. Before her gubernatorial career, Reynolds worked as a pharmacist assistant and later entered politics, serving as Clarke County Treasurer and then as a member of the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2011.
