Kristofer Hivju is a Norwegian actor, producer, and screenwriter, best known for his role as Tormund Giantsbane in the HBO television series “Game of Thrones.” Born in Oslo, Norway, Hivju comes from a family deeply rooted in the arts. He is the son of actors Erik Hivju and Lieselotte Holmene, and the cousin of French actress Isabelle Nanty. Hivju studied at the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Moscow and graduated in 2004.
