He was born on September 11, 1991, in Singapore, where his father worked in the maritime industry. Kygo grew up in various countries, including Brazil, Japan, and Norway, due to his family’s international moves. He began playing the piano at the age of six and later transitioned to electronic music production. Kygo gained international fame in 2014 with his remix of Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire,” which went viral on YouTube and SoundCloud. His debut single, “Firestone,” featuring Conrad Sewell, was released in December 2014 and became a global hit, amassing millions of streams. He continued his success with tracks like “Stole the Show,” “Stay,” and “It Ain’t Me,” featuring Selena Gomez. In 2016, Kygo released his debut studio album, “Cloud Nine,” which received positive reviews and solidified his place in the electronic dance music scene.
