Kyle Carpenter is a former United States Marine who is best known for his extraordinary heroism during his service in Afghanistan. Born in Flowood, Mississippi, Carpenter enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2009. He served with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, Regimental Combat Team 1, 1st Marine Division.
