Marcus Allen is a retired American football player born on March 26, 1960, in San Diego, California. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest running backs in the history of the National Football League (NFL). Allen played college football at the University of Southern California (USC), where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1981. He was then drafted by the Los Angeles Raiders in the first round of the 1982 NFL Draft. During his 16-year NFL career, Allen played for the Los Angeles Raiders (1982–1992) and the Kansas City Chiefs (1993–1997). He was known for his versatility, combining power, speed, and agility to excel as a rusher, receiver, and blocker. Allen was named the Super Bowl XVIII MVP after leading the Raiders to victory with a then-record 191 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
