Ludmya “Mia” Bourdeau Love is an American politician who served as the U.S. Representative for Utah’s 4th congressional district from 2015 to 2019. Born on December 6, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York, to Haitian immigrant parents, Mia Love has made history in several ways throughout her career. She was the first black female Republican elected to Congress and the first Haitian American elected to Congress. Raised in Connecticut, Love moved to Utah after graduating from the University of Hartford with a degree in Fine Arts. Before her tenure in Congress, she served as the mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah, from 2010 to 2014.
