Morten Andersen, also known as “The Great Dane,” is a retired Danish-American football placekicker who had an illustrious career in the National Football League (NFL). Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Andersen moved to the United States as a teenager and quickly made a name for himself in American football. He attended Michigan State University, where he excelled as a kicker, setting several school records. Andersen was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 1982 NFL Draft.
