Olympia Dukakis was a highly respected American actress, director, producer, and author. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, into a Greek-American family and raised in a culturally rich environment. Dukakis earned a bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University, which she initially pursued to help soldiers returning from World War II.
