Payal Kadakia is an accomplished American businesswoman, best known as the founder and executive chairman of ClassPass, a membership program that provides people with access to the world’s largest network of fitness classes. Born to Indian immigrants, Payal grew up in Randolph, New Jersey, and was introduced to traditional Indian dance at a young age, which sparked her lifelong passion for dance and fitness. She attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she earned a degree in Operations Research. After graduating, she started her career in consulting at Bain & Company before transitioning to the Warner Music Group. Her entrepreneurial journey began in 2013 when she founded ClassPass, revolutionizing the fitness industry by offering a flexible, affordable way for people to attend a variety of fitness classes. Under her leadership, ClassPass expanded to over 2,500 cities in 28 countries and was valued at over $1 billion. Beyond her professional achievements, Payal is also a celebrated dancer and choreographer. She founded Sa Dance Company, a contemporary Indian dance troupe, in 2009.
