Randy Savage, born Randall Mario Poffo, was an American professional wrestler and professional baseball player best known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He was born on November 15, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio. Savage was known for his flamboyant style, colorful outfits, and his signature catchphrase, “Ooh yeah!” He was a two-time WWF Champion and a four-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Savage was also a one-time WWF Intercontinental Champion and is credited with bringing a higher level of athleticism and showmanship to professional wrestling. Savage began his wrestling career in 1973 after a brief stint in minor league baseball. He quickly rose through the ranks, gaining fame for his intense persona and high-flying moves.
