Robert Vaughn was an American actor best known for his role as suave spy Napoleon Solo in the 1960s television series “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” Born in New York City, Vaughn moved to Los Angeles with his mother after his parents divorced. He studied journalism at the University of Minnesota, but later switched to drama, earning a Master’s degree in theater from Los Angeles City College and a Ph.D. in communications from the University of Southern California.
