Harry Leroy “Roy” Halladay III was a professional baseball pitcher who played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies. Known for his incredible work ethic and dominant performances, Halladay was one of the most respected pitchers of his era. He was an eight-time All-Star, two-time Cy Young Award winner, and pitched a perfect game and a postseason no-hitter. Halladay was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019, becoming the first posthumous inductee since Roberto Clemente. Tragically, he died in a plane crash in 2017.
