Sharice Davids is an American attorney, former mixed martial artist, and politician who has been serving as the U.S. Representative for Kansas’s 3rd congressional district since 2019. Born and raised in Kansas, she is a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, a Native American tribe, and is one of the first two Native American women elected to Congress, alongside Deb Haaland. Davids is also the first openly LGBTQ+ Native American elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. Davids grew up in a military family; her mother served in the U.S. Army.
