Stephen Furst was an American actor and director, best known for his role as Kent “Flounder” Dorfman in the classic comedy film “National Lampoon’s Animal House” (1978) and as Dr. Elliot Axelrod on the television series “St. Elsewhere.” Born Stephen Nelson Feuerstein, he was active in the entertainment industry from the late 1970s until his death in 2017. Furst also made significant contributions as a voice actor, lending his voice to characters in animated series and movies. Furst was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Theater.
