Stephen Kevin Bannon, widely known as Steve Bannon, is an American media executive, political strategist, and former investment banker. Born on November 27, 1953, in Norfolk, Virginia, Bannon rose to prominence as the executive chairman of Breitbart News, a far-right news, opinion, and commentary website, which he described as “the platform for the alt-right.” Bannon attended Benedictine College Preparatory, a private, Catholic military high school in Richmond, Virginia, and later graduated from Virginia Tech in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in urban planning.
