Steve Yzerman is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and current executive known for his storied career with the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected fourth overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft and quickly became a central figure for the team.
