Willie Davis was an American football defensive end who played for the Cleveland Browns and the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL). Born in Lisbon, Louisiana, Davis was a standout at Grambling State University under the legendary coach Eddie Robinson. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 15th round of the 1956 NFL Draft but served two years in the U.S. Army before joining the team. After his time with the Browns, he was traded to the Green Bay Packers in 1960, where he played the bulk of his career and became a key member of the Packers dynasty under coach Vince Lombardi. Davis was known for his incredible speed and agility, which helped him become one of the most dominant defensive players of his time. Over his 12-year NFL career, he played in five NFL Championships and two Super Bowls, helping the Packers win five NFL titles and the first two Super Bowls.
